ScreenWriter Open Discussion
Bing Bingham
An open discussion about the business and process of screenwriting,
rather than a "how to" session, though I won't shy away from questions regarding story structure, etc. I will also bring examples of treatments and scripts for both television and film.
Bing Bingham an Emmy and Clio winner had acquired a literary agent and began to focus on writing stories for television and film. His breakthrough story, "Earth Wings and Fire," was optioned by Tom Cruise and Paramount Pictures in 1997 and although the story has yet to be made, the acquisition opened many doors. Recently, Bingham's screenplay based on Senator John McCain's best selling memoir, Faith of My Fathers, was produced in 2005 and broadcast on A&E. A list of recent writing credits include:· Back in Action (2005) (A&E) Screenplay, Faith of My Fathers (2004) TV Adaptation (A&E). Nominated for three Emmys.

Rick Levine
This promises to be an exciting workshop with the emmy and clio winning director Rick Levine and will fill up quickly!
Rick Levine, President of Rick Levine Productions, is one of America’s outstanding commercial directors. The narrative and visual power of his work has earned him a reputation as a director of exceptional creative vitality. His unique command of both dramatic nuance and kinetic spectacle has established him as a leader in a highly competitive field.
Rick’s work has won him recognition at home and abroad since he first entered the field. He has been honored with dozens of awards and continues to win awards for excellence in direction, cinematography and overall production. Rick was honored with an invitation to assist in the first intensive study by the Smithsonian of a single advertising campaign, the “Pepsi Generation”. Rick’s participation was sought because he directed some fourteen commercials in this campaign for Pepsi. His commitment to the project was acknowledged with a certificate of appreciation for his time, and for his many contributions to advertising technique.

Lou Sabini
A special screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1938 British thriller, THE LADY VANISHES, will be featured following commentary and a brief introduction by film historian Lou Sabini, who will provide insight into the making of this timeless classic, which stars Sir Michael Redgrave and Margaret Lockwood. After the film, Lou will conduct a Q&A with audience members.
Lou Sabini is a noted film historian/archivist who has spent a lifetime collecting, studying and preserving rare and classic films from Hollywood’s Golden Age. Mr. Sabini studied under renowned film professor William K. Everson, when he attended School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. Lou has been teaching a film course for Learning in Retirement through Sacred Heart University for thirteen years. He taught a course on social dramas of the 30’s and another on Alfred Hitchcock, the British years at Norwalk Community College.

He is currently writing a book about the pre-code era of Hollywood as well as another book called HOLLYWOOD EXPOSED.
